Carol has been teaching classes in book arts and pop-up design for over 25 years. She offers classes for both children and adults, at all levels of experience. Students appreciate Carol's professional yet relaxed teaching style, and her ability to communicate complexities of dimensional design and construction in a clear, easily understood step-by-step class format.

Fees

For schools, arts organizations, and other educational and non-profit groups, the fee is to $650 per day.

For corporations and businesses, the fee is $2000 per day.

 

Additional Expenses

Organizations are also responsible for costs of round-trip airfare, lodging, and a negotiated per diem rate. Additionally, supply fees may either be covered by the organization, or charged to the students.

Class Requirements

Maximum number of students is 15, provided adequate work space is available. Each student requires about a 36" x 18" table space, along with 2 or 3 additional shared work tables. The instructor will provide a list of tools for students to bring, along with some tools available for sale. A slide projector or digital projector and screen is needed for most classes. Public lectures on the history of pop-ups, the history of artist's books, tunnel books, or carousel books can also be arranged. See available lectures.
